FIRST AFTERSCHOOL REHEARSAL - ENTERTAINMENT UNIT
When: Wednesday, September 1, 2010
Where: LAHS Instrumental Room 519 and Practice Field
Who: All Entertainment Unit members
Report Time: 3pm
Dismiss Time: 6pm (parents please pick up your student at 6:30pm)
What to bring & wear: Wear lightweight clothing, tennis shoes, socks. Make sure to bring instrument, music, dot books, pencil (w/ an eraser), and any necessary items
Misc: Afterschool rehearsals will be from 3pm to 6pm: Mondays - Color Guard ONLY; Tuesdays - Winds/Drumline ONLY; Wednesdays & Fridays - ALL Entertainment Unit members

PARENT MEETING - SEPTEMBER
When: Tuesday, September 14, 2010
Where: LAHS Instrumental Room 519
Who: All Entertainment Unit parents
What: Meet other Entertainment Unit parents and learn more about the program and ways to be involved and support your student in the program
Report Time: 7pm
Dismiss Time: 8:30pm
Misc: This is a very important opportunity to learn how you can get involved in LAHS's growing and expanding music program. We will discuss future dates, chaperoning, and other opportunities and needs.
 
3RD (OF 3) INSTALLMENT OF SEMESTER ASSESSMENT FEE DUE ($250.00)

HOME FOOTBALL VS. WEST ADAMS PREP
When: Thursday, September 16, 2010
Who: All Entertainment Unit members
What: We will perform pep tunes in the stands and our field show production during half-time to support our football team and entertain the audience
Report Time: 4:30pm at LAHS (put on uniforms and load instruments and equipment into truck and trailer)
Leave LAHS: 5:30pm 
Arrive at Vets Stadium: approx. 6pm (unload truck and trailer, and get instruments and equipment ready)
Warm-up: approx. 6:15pm
Pre-game performance on field (Star Spangled Banner and Fight Song): approx. 6:45pm 
Football game starts: 7pm (start playing pep tunes in the stands)
Half-time performance (Mvt. 1 and Mvt. 2 - marching and playing): approx. 8:30pm 
Leave Vets Stadium: approx. 9:45pm 
Arrive back at LAHS: approx. 10pm (change out of uniforms, return uniforms, unload truck and trailer, and clean up room) 
Dismiss Time: approx. 10:30pm (after EVERYONE helps put ALL items properly away and checks-out with Mr. Sebastian)
What to bring & wear: Necessary items for a performance (blue shirt (woodwinds)/blue underarmor (brass)/red underarmor (percussion) and compression shorts for under uniform, black socks, clean and polished black shoes, black gloves, and additional items needed depending on section)
Misc: Click on the address above for directions. We will meet at LAHS to get dressed, load the truck, trailer and buses, then take District Buses to Vets Stadium.
 
MINIMUM DAY

PICTURE DAY

Who: All Entertainment Unit members
What: We will take our formal group picture at this time. Buddy/section/individual/group pictures can be taken at this time as well. Picture packages are available for purchase. Order forms will be distributed to students prior to Picture Day

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT

What: Parents will have the opportunity to visit and meet all of their child's teachers

Football Game Information

All HOME football games are played at:

Vets Stadium (4901 E. Carson St., Long Beach, CA 90808)

Students meet at LAHS, then we travel using district busses to every home game. Please refer to the detailed information regarding specific times for a specific event.

 

What to bring & wear to HOME football games:

-Blue Band T-shirt, Blue Under Armor (Brass ONLY), or Red Under Armor (Drumline ONLY)
-CLEAN Black Marching Shoes
-BLACK Socks
-Black Gloves
-Black Skull Cap (only for those with hair that touches the collar and needs assistance keeping hair up in shako)
-Instrument
-Music/Lyre/Flip Folder
-Shako (in Shako box)
 
NOTE: You must have your complete uniform and all of its required parts, or you will not be able to perform and your grade will be affected.
