Marching Band Finishes Strong!

Marching Band Finishes Strong!

By: Elizabeth Guelpa

The 2019 season of the LAHS Marching Band has been brought to a close. The show, Kusama: See Forever, went through many changes throughout its season. Through seven competitions, the band truly improved the whole way through. The Griffins placed third both days of WBA Championships 3A division with a score of 89.45 the first day and 90.30 the second, earning the Bronze Medal at combined 1A-2A-3A Championship Finals. The band placed at nearly every competition and through its evolution they brought the show to life. This season truly showed how far a band can come. The instructors and students put in hours and hours of hard work to bring this show together and finish strong. A complete recap of scores can be found HERE!

Way to go griffins!

Fall 2018 Recap

Fall 2018 Recap

In Fall 2018, the Los Alamitos High School Marching Band completed their season undefeated in the Western Band Association (WBA) 3A division with their show entitled “LA OFRENDA.” They were also FINALISTS in the Bands of America SoCal Ragional at LA Valley College. The weekend before Thanksgiving, the band went to Bakersfield, CA for WBA finals, however the competition was cancelled due to poor air quality. With the finals shut down, many schools put together exhibition shows. The Los Al band went to Rowland High School and were able to put on one final performance in front of their peers.
